How did we get Our Name?

There are two parts to our name, the first "Unlimited" was chosen to reflect the possibilities offered by taking a new look and approach to secondary school education. The word Unlimited reflected a philosophy of discovery learning, supported by creativity and innovation, coupled with exploration in the real world. Students at Unlimited make use of the wider community to access resources, learning opportunities and qualifications.

The second part of our name was given to us by our local iwi - Ngai Tahu. The words paenga tawhiti reflect concepts of endless horizons, borderless worlds and limitless possibilities.
