Foundation Production |
At the beginning of the production we all meet for the first read through and auditions. It was really interesting finding out about what all of the different characters were and who might play them. The best part of the casting was finding out that Hunter had to play seven characters on stage at he same time. After the parts were given out we all started rehearsing. Some of us worked with Mariah and Naomi and some of us were with Alister and we had to work out blocking for our scenes. The best part of the early rehearsals was seeing what different people came up with for their characters. The hardest part was learning all of our lines in time. As the first performance to Discovery got closer the show felt like it was coming together. It was easier when we had props and costumes to work with but we broke the blow up sword that the prince had to use to stab the witch and it only stayed up with sellotape holding it together. Then came the big day and suddenly there was an audience! We felt kind of nervous and a bit excited at the same time. But the first shows actually went off without anything falling over or exploding or anyone forgetting their lines. The castle came close to falling over but it was all good in the end. The production has been a lot of fun and a little challenging for some of us, everybody has done very well. Most of us have only really done some improv classes and we are really thankful for the people who helped us out, like Alister, Jared and the props class, Naomi, Mariah and also the backstage crew of Libby Oli, James, Caleb and Jacob. I would definitely do it again. Rumplestiltskin |
